Herbal medicine prescriptions are given following a personal consultation with one of our medically-qualified herbalists.

A medical examination may be carried out, and any necessary diagnostic tests performed.

We are trained to consult and diagnose, following which we compose a herbal medicine prescription for each individual patient, which often contains six or even up to a dozen different herbs blended together, and has a precise dosage indicated on it following the individual assessment for that person.

This tailored and individualized approach is often able to help, even where the person has been self-medicating with herbal medicines without success.

A herbal prescription will almost never be the same for any two people with the same illness, since it is necessary to give the right balance of medicines on an individual basis: thus it is the person who is treated, and not the illness. The dosage given is also a very important factor.

This individually-tailored approach is really the secret of the herbalist`s ability to be successful in so many cases, especially where there has been no help from other types of treatments.

The traditional practice of herbal medicine in this respect may truly be said to be an art as well as a science.

The prescription will generally be changed at follow-up consultations as the person`s condition progresses under treatment.
